Built on
customer’s
feedback
The old app asked for a login before it showed anything. The revamp opens with an onboarding that explains the app, a guest mode that lets people in without an account, and a dashboard that leads with what you owe and what you have left.
Pains & goals
Onboarding, entry and landing were read back to us in support tickets and store visits. Same complaints, every time.
-
Login wallNothing was visible before sign in, so first-time users had no way to see what the app did.
-
No introThe app dropped people straight into a form with no explanation of what it covered.
-
Dues hiddenWhat you owe and when it is due sat behind a menu, so the most-asked question was never on screen.
Pains
- No guest mode
- There is no onboarding once the app is download.
- Multi-account users could not tell which number they were looking at.
- Promotional space pushed real account data below the fold.
- Add visibility for the user with their dues
Goals
- Can access the G1 even without login
- Give a brief introduction about the app and its feature
- Name the account on screen, and make switching one tap.
- Answer owe / left / next before any scroll.
- Give promos a fixed slot below the account block.
How we solved it
Five passes, each one closing a specific complaint before the next began.
-
01Audit the old flowScreen-by-screen teardown of first launch, entry and landing, tagged against support ticket volume.Ticket-weighted issue list
-
02InterviewsTwelve subscribers across Postpaid, Prepaid and GFiber, plus five people with no account at all.3 recurring pains
-
03Split the pathsMapped what a guest can see and where the app asks them to sign up, then set the onboarding sequence.Guest and member IA
-
04PrototypeClickable onboarding, guest browsing and dashboard built from New Gen components, tested in Maze.Task time halved

05Hand offSpecced states, empty cases and error copy beside each component in the library.Dev-ready spec
-
OnboardingThree screens, then a choiceThe intro ends on two equal doors: continue as guest, or sign in. Neither is buried in small text.
-
Guest modeRead before you registerGuests get plans, coverage and load offers. Sign-up is asked for at the point of purchase, not at the door.
-
AccountsCards, not a dropdownBrand account cards carry the number and the one number that matters, so switching is recognition instead of recall.
-
ContentA slot for promosDiscovery content keeps a fixed position below the account block, so it can change without moving account data.
Sample screens
Onboarding, login and sign-up, guest mode and the dashboard both paths land on. Every screen is assembled from the New Gen library.
